Among the decorations of "Chinese" Lunar New Year celebrations {lunisolar calendar ; somewhat followed also in Japan as the Traditional (old) New Year} - there are things with the character 福 ("Good Fortune") intentionally turned upside down { = with auspicious meaning of "arrival" ("coming"...) - derived from the same sound of "upside down" and "arrival" : 倒=到 : in Chinese: dào /or in Japanese: tō }.
